Hi I'm Alyse

I'm from St. George, Utah. I'm passionate about the outdoors! I crave music. Home, to me, is spelled "F-O-O-D". And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been very blessed in my life to live in an area of the world where nature is not just a pretty thing you pass by in car rides but a haven of God's creations to enjoy (climb/hike/swim/run/row/bike/ride/camp/garden, you name it). I believe, strongly, that there are more lessons we can learn in being outdoors than being indoors could ever teach us. I am only one year into a music degree at DSU. I am a Flute Performance Major, to be specific. I love it. It has been some of the harder experiences that I have ever faced but nonetheless the most rewarding. I love it, nay, I ADORE IT! Haha I've also been blessed to have a wonderful family. I love to pick up a new BBC series, garden, eat good fruit and cheese (ANY good food) and laugh with my Mom. When I feel like flying, you can find me out riding motorcycles with my Dad and brothers. I give all the good/bad credit to them for teaching me about an engine (not many girls can tell you what a carburetor is and explain what it does). I love playing/talking/laughing/learning about music with my family, it's something we all can share. With each new "in-law" that comes to our family I learn more about my siblings and I love to see them in love. I love seeing my sister start her very own family. She is the first of us kids to do so. I love watching t.v. shows, gaming, pranking, talking and most of all laughing with my brother and his wife. They've helped and encouraged me through tough times in the life of a Music Major.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know he restored his gospel and priesthood power to the Earth and it is only through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that we can have that power. I, personally, have felt the love of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in my life and it became evident to me that I really want to be in "good standing" with them. I knew then, that I need to follow what they ask me to do; I want to do what is right. When I was eight years old I had the choice to be baptized, confirmed and become a member of the church. I knew that Jesus was baptized and that we should follow his example but I still felt unsure, after all this was a big decision! Even at eight years old, I remember I spent weeks praying to know if this was right, if being baptized was right. Each time that I prayed I felt more sure and more confident that this church really did have the power and authority of God. I felt the spirit confirm to me that being baptized was right. I have grown a lot since then, my ideas and opinions have changed since eight years old, but one thing hasn't changed, my decision to be baptized and to join the church. I know I did (and am doing!) what Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want for me. And because of that, I feel very happy and peaceful :)

How I live my faith

I have a strong faith in a loving Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I have faith in them by following the commandments that they have given and give to each of us. I show my faith by trying everyday to be the best person I can be; because that's what they want for each of us! Where I live I have the opportunity to worship with college students my age (it's called a YSA ward) and it's great! I love seeing my friends and people my age also trying to live a good life and stay close to our Heavenly Father and Savior. Sometimes life can get tough, complicated and challenging but I know (because I've experienced it for myself) that Jesus Christ knows exactly how to help us. We can ask through prayer and receive help and even guidance in each of our daily lives! I know both, our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, are very aware of our lives. They love us so very much and they want the absolute best for us.
