Hi I'm Lauren

I love my family. And I love to try new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the middle of three brothers for most of my childhood, and because of that I love to be active and play sports. Baking, photography, music and board games are also some of my favorite things. I love to learn and plan on teaching as a profession after college. In the mean time, I get to practice by teaching swim lessons for kids as my job during the summer. I believe that children have such a special light about them. In high school I had the opportunity to take many spanish courses and travel to Honduras for service education trips. The happiness that comes from focusing on others is truly amazing and I am grateful for the experiences I've had that taught me such things were true.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life. My parents taught me to be kind and inspired me through the stories of The Bible and The Book of Mormon. However, I know that the reason I still choose to live this way is because of special experiences of feeling the Holy Ghost testify that the things I was learning were true. I can firmly declare that I have put these principles to the test and tried them in my own life. The difference I feel when I am regularly reading from the scriptures and praying to my Heavenly Father is incredible. Each day I must wake up and make that choice again and again, but when I do I have infinitely more peace, comfort, and joy. I know that Heavenly Father has so many blessings for us as we choose to follow His son, Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for the sins of the world, and that He understands everything we go through individually in this life. I know that The Bible and The Book of Mormon are the word of God, and that because of these records Christ's church has been established today with prophets and apostles to lead and guide us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to extend kindness and charity in all aspects of my life as Jesus Christ did. I have been given responsibilities in the past to care for other girls my age as a youth leader, organize activity group nights and teach gospel classes to women at church on Sundays. I believe it is important to serve at work, school and home as well. Whether it be through tutoring students who need extra help or keeping the kitchen clean for my parents, I know that when I am serving other people I am serving God. Starting in August 2014, I have the opportunity to be a full-time missionary. I will leave my family for 18 months in order to give others the chance to learn of God's love for them and that Christ's church has been restored in its fulness today.
