Hi I'm Tyler

I graduated high school and got my Eagle Scout award. I love to play violin and read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play my violin, viola, and guitar. I find that through playing, I can feel peace and help other people be happy. Music helps me to continue being happy through the pressures of life. I think that it is much easier to play in front of other people than we think. From my experience playing at church, high school concerts, and for family reunions, I've found that most people will enjoy your best effort, regardless of a few mistakes here and there. Playing your best brings warm feelings to both yourself and family members, regardless of your ability. I'm currently serving a two year mission, and am very excited. Going on a mission is scary, I'll be leaving my family and friends to go to a foreign country. I won't know anyone when I get there. But I am more excited to go than I have been about anything before. I will be serving other people so they can find happiness and peace in there lives. I'll learn a new language and about the culture there. When I get back I'll go to college at BYU to study either engineering or computer software.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the message of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. I respect the leaders of the church and know that Thomas S. Monson is a real prophet on the earth today. I know that God and Jesus Christ live and care a lot for every person on earth. I know that God is our Heavenly Father, the creator of our spirits. I know that Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and that through him, we can all live with our loving Heavenly Father again. I believe that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet called of God to restore many of the simple and pure truths that were lost over the years after Jesus Christ and his apostles were killed. I know that Jesus Christ was resurrected. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and we can be cleansed if we will turn to him sincerely. I believe that all the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will help us to become the people our Heavenly Father wants to be. I know that wickedness never is happiness. That we will be most happy in our lives if we follow the guidelines from the prophets in the past, present, and future. I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that the Bible is also. I believe that just because there is new scripture, the bible isn't any less important.

How I live my faith

I have participated in many Youth activities through my life. I love how accepting and inviting the people I've been with are. I've been our ward Indexing leader. Indexing is a part of geneology work. To index, you just load up a document on familysearch, read the information, type it, and submit it. This provides the documents so people can find out about their ancestors. I think it is cool to find out things like who your ancestors are and where they lived. We can learn a lot about our lives by reading about our ancestors. Right now, I am serving a mission to the Philippines. I am so grateful for the opportunity to do this. As a missionary, I will invite and help people have faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement. To help people find joy from faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. Repentance means turning your will to follow Jesus Christ's perfect example. Baptism is promising to follow God and being cleansed of your sins and mistakes. The Holy Ghost is the wonderful feelings of peace, joy, and truth when you hear the gospel. Enduring to the end means continuing to do good things for others your whole life. I believe that by following Christ's example, we can all make the world a better place.
