Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in Atlanta. I am a triplet. I love the lake. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My entire life I have played soccer. It is my favorite sport, closely followed by cross country and track. I ran the longer distances in track, but I enjoyed the 5k much more. I am going to serve a mission for our church, and then going to attend college in Utah. I really love being outdoors, especially sports. I enjoy water sports, especially wakeboarding and wakesurfing. I have recently taken up longboarding to make up for when I can't find myself on the water at the lake.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that has been members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since close to the time that the true church was restored on the Earth. While growing up in the church, I always knew that it was true, but I never really knew why. As I was preparing to go on a mission, a lot of questions to if that is what I should do and if everything that I was always taught was true. After studying the Book of Mormon, praying a lot to my Father in Heaven, I knew that there was no better way to spend the next two year of my life. There is no way after the feelings I have felt, the strength I have been given, and the answers that have been given to me that this is not the true church on the Earth today. I know without a doubt in my mind that the Book of Mormon is a true book and through studying it and praying about it, we are given answers that we need to know.

How I live my faith

While I was on my cross country team I was given many opportunities to teach others about my faith. While I was going through the process of getting my call to be a missionary, I was given many opportunities to explain to my friends what a missionary is and why I would spend two years of my life devoted to bringing others happiness. Each month, we spend a few hours providing service for people in my church or in the community. Those few hours give me more happiness than most other activities that I ever do. I love providing service to people.
