Hi I'm Dejah Montague

I'm a Mormon, or member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). I grew up in North-East California, Alturas.

About Me

I love to read, write, hike, camp, play sports, watch movies (especially comedies or Disney movies), play games, try new food, and travel. I want to be a book editor and publisher and plan to get an English Major. I am often a quiet person but am easy to get excited or make laugh and am very passionate about my beliefs and my loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with 3 older siblings and 2 loving parents. As I became older and looked to my family for an example of how to live my life and do what is right, I realized that they looked to Christ's example and how much the church helped to teach us how to apply those actions and thoughts into my own life. My parents and siblings often bore their testimony, we prayed and read scriptures together and on our own time, spent time as a family, and discussed many things about the gospel. From their testimonies I felt the spirit testify of the truth of what they were saying, it was a warm filling that started in my chest and spread through my body and a feeling of comfort and peace, even love. When I became old enough, I finally wanted to build my own testimony and know that what I have been taught my whole life. As I prayed about the testimony of Joseph Smith, of the restoration of the gospel, the Book of Mormon, of the Atonement of Christ, of a pre-existence and a life after death, of a Latter-Day prophet, of temples, and priesthood power, and many other things, I would feel the spirit confirm in a very strong and personal way that they were true. That I AM a child of God, that he loves me, and because he loves me and listens to my prayers, he answers them and has prepared a prophet and apostles on the Earth today so that he can advice me on how to return to him one day. I have been blessed in so many ways because of the gospel in my life. Not only do I want and try to keep the well known 10 commandments, but also the other guidelines and advising of the prophets that I know come from God. Though my understanding of the world and of God's plan for me is very limited, I know that my faith makes me strong and brings me comfort and guidance from the Holy Ghost and makes up for my own faults and limitations. Through the Holy Ghost, I have a constant companion and feel Christ's love for me and never want to be without that. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Going to church events, especially in a Single's Ward where we are all roughly around the same age, are way fun and always a good way to meet new people and form new friendships. I used to work as the Librarian, which with my love of reading and the gospel, I enjoyed seeing all the different testimonies of Christ from so many different people, the pictures from many different artists of temples, Christ's life, families, and other principles of the gospel.
