Hi I'm Sam Larsen

I'm from Salt Lake City. I am currently serving a mission in South Africa, Durban. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I just graduated high school and am in the midst of decided where I want to go to college. I am the oldest of nine children. My family adopted 4 kids from Ethiopia when I was 15. It's a unique but fun situation where my family was essentially combined with another family. It's taken a lot of adjustment and changes but all for the better. I love to ski and mountain bike in the mountains of Utah. I have a special appreciation of the mountains. I have been working as a waiter at a burger joint for the past two years. I work to keep myself busy and to not burden my parents who have plenty of other kids to support.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well a simple answer would be is that I grew up being Mormon and I like being Mormon. However, there are many who grew up similarly to me that have chosen other paths. So a better answer would be that I'm a Mormon because I have found a truth and happiness that I believe can only be found in this Gospel. When I was 16 I realized that I had to decide for myself if this church was for me. So I asked the one person who I trusted the most if this church is true, God. My answer has come through the past two years as i have continued to grow and learn so much more about God's plan for me. This plan is my goal. It's called the plan of happiness for a reason. There is a unique happiness present in the knowledge of the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I invite all to taste of this happiness. We are promised in Mosiah 2:41 that through obedience to the commandments we will dwell in a state of never-ending happiness with our Heavenly Father. That is why I have chosen to be a Mormon

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time two-year mission for the church. I am serving in the South Africa, Durban mission. Everyday of my next two years will be dedicated to God and the people of South Africa. I will serve them in whatever way I can. I plan to be an obedient missionary who is fully committed to doing anything I can to be a successful missionary in God's eyes. Growing up, a mission is always a goal. I have chosen for myself to serve a mission.
