Hi I'm Jessica Boyd

My name is Jessica Boyd. I am the eldest of six and I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

About Me

I come from a very large family, with a lot of amazing and talented Aunts and Uncles, and cousins! I am the eldest of six children in my immediate family and basically helped to raise all of them!! I am married to a quirky and fantastic husband, whom i adore, and we recently had the opportunity to be sealed for all time and eternity!I have one boy who is very active and constantly on the go! He is also quite the little clown and is always trying to be comical! We look forward to adding more children to our mixed family in the future and some say we may have twins, as it runs in my family, but we shall see what the Lord has in store for us! I am very independent and I have to push myself to allow others to help me! I enjoy the outdoors and find beauty in many of the wonderful creations God has provided for us! I love to be in British Columbia and enjoy the fresh lakes and mountains! I feel most at home and at peace there! My family and I have recently started our own garden for the first time this year and it feels so good to be able to profit from our labors! My son enjoys seeing our plants grow and says how great it is that Jesus helps our plants grow! I have also ventured into the world of making my own soaps and may just do it as a small side business, but we shall see what happens! I love many animals! Even though I am not a very experienced horse back rider, I love to ride when I get the chance, and miss jumping when I was taking lessons as a girl!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was baptized but struggled for many years! I was in-active for about 13/14 years and when I had my son in a previous relationship my standards changed. All of the things that I was taught as a child were what I wanted for my son! I wanted him to have standards, know where he came from and why he is here on earth, and much much more! I wanted him to benefit from the many blessings that come through the priesthood and the support of other members! Because of this, I started going back to church and realized that this is where I needed to be! I knew the church was true, and that I was much happier when I put my life in line with the teachings of the gospel and our latter day prophets! I found hope and peace again! Everything is much clearer and happier! I can not imagine my life without the gospel and the clarity it gives! I know this church is true and I do not want to ever be without it again and be lost!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to keep the commandments and by serving those around me! I am an assistant compassionate service coordinator! I support my husband in his callings and teach our son the values and standards of the church! I try to invite friends, who are not members, to church activities! I'm not afraid to pray in front of non-members and try to make it a habit, even when we are out, to have a prayer on our food! I also dress modestly and refrain from vulgarity, drinking and loud partying, which in turn raises opportunities for questions to be asked about why I am like this!
