Hi I'm Emily

I have lived in Utah my whole life. I am the youngest of four kids in my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and come from a small town. Throughout high school I always focused on getting good grades, aside from enjoying boating, skiing, and being obsessed with the NBA and NFL. I then went to BYU Provo for my freshman year before heading on a mission to Hong Kong, which I am currently preparing for. While at BYU I have been studying business with an emphasis in nonprofit management. I am the youngest of four kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because with the promptings I have had and the power of the spirit I have felt, I simply could not deny it. I grew up a member of this church but I stuck with it because I came to know it was true for myself. I started out just wanting this gospel to be true, just wanting this church to be the true church. But as I prayed and searched the Book of Mormon, that want turned into a knowledge that this is the true church. I've had so many experiences and so many blessings that testify to me that Jesus is the Christ and that I do have a loving Heavenly Father who cares about me. Once you know it's true, there is no going back. You can feel it, and there is no denying that.

How I live my faith

I grew up having many different callings in presidencies in young women's groups in my ward, which I always enjoyed. While at BYU, I was a family home evening "mom," meaning that I was in charge of planning all the activities and trying to get people to come. I am now teaching different ages in primary before I leave on my mission. I have truly loved each calling I have had because it allowed me to get to know people so much better. I love leadership positions because they allow me to have higher expectations for myself and be an example to others of what I believe in.
