Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a stay at home mom/piano teacher with 2 little boys and a sweet little girl. My family is my greatest work and achievement.

About Me

I left my job after four years of marriage to come home and be a mom to our sweet baby boy. Every since then, I have chosen to stay home and take care of our children. It's been such a wonderful 5 1/2 years. 3 kids later, I am a master play dough roller, my kids say I make the best sandwiches, and I can change a diaper anywhere! I don't even need a flat surface!! When I have down time, I am fulfilled by music. I love to play the piano. I love to sing and when I can get my "to do" list out of my head, I love to write my own songs. I turned that love into a part time gig that I can do from home. I now get to teach piano to other people and I love watching them fall in love with it just like I did! I love spending time with my family playing games and swimming. I still dream of a day when I will get to share my music in a packed theater. I love laughing and sharing my life with people. I'm a mom, I'm a wife, I'm a piano teacher, I'm a lot of things...but the thing that makes all those other things wonderful is that I'm a Mormon - and that's made all the difference!

Why I am a Mormon

Honestly, the gospel of Jesus Christ is my calm in the storm, my anchor in a world that is ever changing. I'm a mormon because the gospel has answered every question I have every had. I grew up in with the gospel in my life and probably took it for granted for a period of time. During my late teenage years, I started to see how important the principles of the gospel were to me and that I needed to make decisions that would help me reach my full potential. At 15, I decided that I needed to know for sure that these things were true.....so I prayed. I prayed and prayed that night. I woke up and just knew that everything I had been taught and read my whole life was, in fact, true and that I needed to move forward with faith. Since that day, every decision I have made has been thoughtful and prayerful. I know that when I put the Lord first, everything in my life works out the way it should. It hasn't always been easy but I have felt the Lord's hand leading me. At 24 years old, I was a new college graduate and had met the man of my dreams. We were getting serious and I already felt like I was going to marry him. A month after we started dating, I went to a routine physical and found out I was in kidney failure and would need a transplant. This rocked my world.....how could the Lord let this happen to me? I have done everything He has ever asked of me? But this voice came, "Be still and know that I am God." Even in our trials, the Lord is there and I know that is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by all the hundreds of decisions I make everyday. From what to watch on TV, to how I speak, how I treat others. My callings in my local ward have also strengthened my faith. I teach my children the principles of the gospel through our daily prayer and scripture study. As a family, we rely on the Lord and choose to serve Him daily. As I serve my family and friends, I feel closer to the Savior. As I emulate his teachings in word and deed, I feel blessed and teach my children to recognize His hand in our lives.
