Hi I'm Stephanie

I grew up in Alberta, Canada. I am 16 years old and go to Highschool. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 16 years old and I am in grade eleven in Highschool. I love to sing and participate in many singing opportunities and choirs in my school and in church. I also play the piano and have played violin before. I like to run and go hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had many obstacles in my life and I have had many opportunities to fall away from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormon church.) I have battled with depression, as well as many other things that come with that. I have watched my Mother deteriorate in front of my own eyes so bad that she has been in many hospitals and institutions since April of this year. She has Cerebral Palsy and Arthritis in the knees and joints. My Father has been unemployed for over four years and has had issues with family members. Both of my parents are morbidly obese. I have 2 half brothers and 1 half sister that are all much older then me (21, 29, 31) and I have always lived at home alone with my parents (basically an only child.) I have had many times where I could have just let it all fall down, continued with the bad thoughts, habits and pain relievers but I chose no to. I chose to continue with is church because I have found out for myself that the reason this church has so many "rules" is to protect its members, not restrict them. I know that this gospel is true because I have asked my Heavenly Father and found out myself. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that what is in the book really happened. I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me, cares for me and watches out for me. I know that the Priesthood is truly the power of God given to Man on this Earth and with that, as long as they are worthy, they can do great things. I have a testimony of Motherhood and how important it is. Motherhood should not be looked down upon, Mothers look after precious children of God! How important! I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that we have a true and living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that sometimes things can get really hard, times can get difficult and life can get busy. But for me, this church is the light at the end of the tunnel. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith many ways. I am the first councillor in my Young Women's presidency (A group of 12-18 year old girls.) I try my best to be an example everywhere I go, in everything I do and in all that I say. I try to be an example of Jesus Christ by pretending to have His name written on tape on my forehead and I think: "What would Jesus Christ do? How would He react? What would Christ say?" in any type of situation. Since I have His name on me, I should be acting like Him. How would I want others to see me? How would I want to treat others? What would I want to say? I want to be seen as someone who loves are cares for everyone. I try my best to treat others with respect and care and see their every need. I try my best to love everyone. I try my best to make my words and actions appropriate, loving and respectful of myself and others. I live my faith by going to church every Sunday and participate in weekly youth activities that helps me grow closer to my Heavenly Father and my Saviour, Jesus Christ.
