Hi I'm Makail

I'm a lacrosse goalie. I'm an insect enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just really enjoy life. I love to travel with my family and see the world. I love having the opportunity to go to college and I look forward to majoring in Biological Engineering. I like to grow tomatoes in my garden and I have a cat named Gus (she's super fluffy). I love cold cereal for breakfast, and I truly believe you can never have to many friends. I love to play ultimate Frisbee, do service activities with Girl Scouts, go sailing with Sea Scouts (a branch of Boy Scouts) and go running. I also played goalie for my lacrosse team. I enjoy a good challenge or project every now and again, and I'm always looking for new hobbies. I LOVE riding motorcycles. Horses are amazing, and someday I'd like to own one. I love to study insects around the places I go, and maybe someday I'll study them more formally. Mostly, I enjoy being a positive person and helping those around me :).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I grew up in this church and I believed, but I never really knew until I read the Book of Mormon when I was 14. I read in the last chapter of Moroni where the promise that we can pray about it and we will receive an answer is located. I prayed, and I received an answer. I also felt God's love for me, and ever since then, my life has had so much more meaning, and so much more happiness. I know that this is the true church. I have seen miracles happen in people's lives that result from their faith and obedience in God, and his authority which we call the priesthood. It has so blessed my life, and as I said earlier, I cannot wait to share this joy with my fellow children of God, and I want them to be this happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by being an example to those around me. I do the things that I know I should be doing, like just being a good person. I did have a calling to be in charge of our Single's Ward (a ward specifically for younger unmarried members of the church) Family Home Evening activities (every Monday night, we get together and have fun and learn about the gospel or do service outside of a more formal church setting). For that calling I had the opportunity to plan the activities and coordinate with other people so that they could be a success. It also helped me to become better friends with all of the people in my ward, and I enjoyed serving them. I am now serving a mission in Cordoba, Argentina for the next 18 months. I am excited to share the joy I have found in this gospel with other children of God.
