Hi I'm Matt

I love to speed skate, tumble, and longboard. My favorite poet is Emily Dickinson. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to speed skate, cheer, longboard and really just about anything that happens outside. When I'm not outside or at a cheer gym I love to read anything from sci-fi and fantasy to quantum physic theories. I enjoy finding meaning in literature and above all else I love to meet and get to know new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents raised me in the church. But I've come to know that I strive to always be a Mormon because I love people and I want to see them find the hope that I've found in my life through the Gospel. I am a Mormon because this church has the truth.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving a mission but outside of my missionary calling I try to find ways to apply the Gospel to every aspect of my life and in turn take what I learn and see how it strengthens my knowledge of the Gospel. I like to see everyone I meet as a hero, take one thing about them that inspires me and then aspire to be more like that.

What is faith?

Matt
Faith is a hope in something that´s true but that you don´t necessarily know to be true. With that we have a Savior who has put His gospel on the Earth that is full of the truth. We can rely on His gospel to have the truth, but we need to have the faith to act on the things we have been given to be true. With that faith is a verb, an action word meaning we try to act according to what has been given to be true, and when we act, then we will receive a confirmation of our faith. Simply put faith is like if someone were to tell you, ¨You can pick up a pen¨. It´s a true fact, but if for some reason you had never picked up a pen, until you tried picking it up you could not comfirm your faith in being able to complete with picking up a pen.
