Hi I'm Lydia

I love the earth, music, food, God, and people. I aspire to share these loves with others and improve lives. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been blessed to have parents dedicated to the gospel their entire lives. As a young adult, I'm only just beginning to discover what the rest of my life has in store for me, but so far I've learned the importance of education, faith, and love. I've spent two years studying at BYU, and attended a semester abroad in Israel, which expanded my perspective more than I could have imagined. I love hiking, gardening, cleaning, reading, playing guitar, playing piano, and singing, and meeting new people. Presently, I'm serving a mission in Argentina to share my knowledge of Christ's love with the people there.

Why I am a Mormon

The biggest reason I continue to live in this gospel is because every time I begin to live less than what I've been commanded, I feel empty and useless. I know it is only through Christ that I can become my best self, and help others the most, and be the very happiest, most productive I can be. There is too much unkindness, dishonesty, and evil in the world. I cannot change the world; I can only change myself and live the best I can, defeating unkindness and dishonesty and evil in small ways with love, integrity, and righteousness, and trusting that God can work through me if I do my best. I have hope for a better world, and I know I must do my part.

How I live my faith

Much of how I live my faith is very personal: I'm increasingly learning the importance of deepening my relationship with God through dedicated prayer and scripture study. I find it crucial to my happiness and integrity to always look for the good in others and treat them with love. When I live this way, always looking for ways to serve others, I am happier and more fulfilled. Being a missionary is a lot of hard work. It demands that I constantly strengthen my own testimony of Jesus Christ so that I can share this with others. Sharing my faith is so important to me.
