Hi I'm Trisha

I'm half-Arabic. I'm a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing- it's my passion. I have been in many choirs, including the elite choir of my high school. I am a college student, currently attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I am majoring in Psychology and I hope to be a mental health counselor one day. I love to play basketball and be outside. My dad's family is from Jerusalem; that makes me half-Arabic. I have moved 11 times in my life, living in Utah, Washington, and Rhode Island. I have a black lab named Ella who is my best friend. I am completely obsessed with Disneyland.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon. I have seen the truth of this book through prayer and questions to my Father in Heaven. I have seen how the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has changed the lives of others, an example being my dad. He grew up going to a Greek Orthodox church in New York. When he was 17, he converted to the LDS faith and then came to Utah for schooling. He served a mission and then met my mother. They were happily married later. My dad talks about his life before the church, and he is one of the biggest examples to me in the Church. I am a Mormon because I can feel Jesus Christ's love for me. He has never left me, or any one of his brothers and sisters. Without His guidance in my life, I would be lost. Every part of being a Mormon is so wonderful. By living by my faith, I have freedom, support, and love. I have happiness, joy, and peace. I have strength when going through trials. I have a perspective on life that gives me hope in all things. I know that where I am today, in my faith, is where I am supposed to be. I know that I am doing the right thing and I know God loves me. I know that Christ atoned for my sins, so that I can repent and be clean. I know that if I continue to repent and live His gospel, that I will be able to live with Him again someday in Heaven. I am so thankful for that knowledge and I know, without a doubt, that it's true. I love this Gospel with all of my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continuing to set an example. I dress modestly and choose to have clean language. I help teach some sisters in my ward once a month. I sing and perform hymns in different church sessions and events. I am also going to be a full-time missionary, where I will go out and teach people about my church for 18 months. I study the Bible and the Book of Mormon daily and pray to my Father in Heaven. I live my faith by faith- I always keep Christ as the center of my day.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The only way for YOU to know that it is true is to open your heart and pray. Have a conversation with God, ask him sincerely. He is listening and He will answer. Pray because YOU want to know, not because someone told you to ask. Listen closely and pay attention to what you feel. You will find your answer. Show more Show less
