Hi I'm Dallin Despain

I grew up in North Carolina and am serving the Lord in El Salvador.

About Me

I'll be serving the Lord in El Salvador as a missionary for the next 2 years. I play basketball some and love watching college sports. I recently graduated from high school and even more recently turned 18. I played the baritone in my school's marching band and concert band and I love making music with my friends and listening to music on my own as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon primarily because my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents etc.. are all members. I grew up in the church. But over the past few years I have really wondered what I truly believe and not just what my parents believe. I know that this church is true. So many people say this phrase but I took the time to actually ponder what it means. It's not that I have a slight inkling about the validity of it, but that there is no doubt at all in my mind of its truth.

How I live my faith

I strive to live a clean life and to surround myself with great friends that help me in maintaining my standards and my faith. Although I don't get ridiculed or harassed greatly for my beliefs I still find it to be challenging at times to always choose the right. I know that we've all felt this way at least once in our lives but we don't all say it. We are all tempted by the adversary, it's part of living in this life. But it is all in how we deal with the temptations that come to face us. I have not had great hardships such as living in a poor family or with divorced parents or other such trials, but I still do have my own personal tribulations. No life is without hardship, but it's through my faith in Christ that I'm able to remain confident in my choices.
