Hi I'm Hoku Ching

I love to read, swim, and travel. I'm a dancer. I'm an architectural designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii and spent most of my childhood enjoying the beach and learning about the many beautiful cultures there. In college I loved learning about everything from history to computer science to photography. I started a Polynesian dance group and helped to bring people of various backgrounds together in different ways. Since then I've received degrees in engineering and architecture and have loved applying the principles of both science and design in life. I've especially enjoyed my opportunities to build a home for a family on the Navajo reservation and travel to countries like Italy and Japan, experiencing different foods, cultures, and lifestyles.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it makes me happy. The knowledge I've gained while a member rings true to my heart and gives me direction and purpose in life. I have exercised faith in living the principles taught and have found that when I do, I am filled with more joy, peace, comfort, and understanding. I have come to know that we are all beloved children of a Heavenly Father and that his son, Jesus Christ, is our savior. Through him, I know that we can live with our families for eternity and find true and lasting happiness.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in the small everyday things I do. I pray and read from the Book of Mormon or Bible while seeking to develop a better relationship with my Savior. Each Sunday I attend church services and spend time studying gospel principles. I enjoy spending time with loved ones and try to support and serve those in my community.
