Hi I'm Skye

I was born in Idaho. I spearfished in the Florida Keys. I collect hobbies and interests. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school graduate. I have a gift for being interested in a wide range of things. And i am usually fairly good at things i try. I have traveled with my awesome family to places like Costa Rica. I spent my last summer on an adventure with my dad on a 32 foot sail boat. We sailed over 1000 miles and got quite good at diving and spearfishing. I have a SCUBA certification that i love but have not yet had the chance to utilize. As a graduation gift from my parents, i was sent to Second City Improv School. I went for a week by myself to Hollywood CA. and learned about acting and improvising. I love building things whether it be R/C planes and helicopters, tools, trebuchets, motorcycles, cars, houses, sheds, furniture, or just about anything else. I have about 2000 hours of welding experience. I can fabricate and weld just about anything. I plan to go to school in 2017 at Idaho State University for a welding degree.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? This is quite the question. I am a Mormon because I know for myself that it is right. I have seen first hand the blessings that come from following this church. I am a Mormon because it's true. I know it's true. I know this because I have studied, searched, and worked hard to know if it is true. I was born into a Mormon family, but I don't stay obedient to Gods commandments to please my family. I do it for myself and for Him. I have studied and prayed, and received a witness from God through the holy ghost that this church is the same one Christ himself founded during his mission on Earth. I know that it contains fullness of His gospel. I know that this is a church of love and truth. I know that if you want to know if it's true as I do, that you must study it out in your mind after reading the Book of Mormon, and pray to know of its truth. I know that if you do this and continue to read, that you wont be able to deny its truth and goodness. I love this church. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am about to serve a mission in Oklahoma, Tulsa. I am still quite young so i don't often have an opportunity to teach in the church. However, I serve my ward by being a worthy priesthood holder. The preparatory priesthood, called the Aaronic priesthood, gives me the opportunity to bless and pass the sacrament each week. This is one way that I participate in my ward. I also go to activities that the church sponsors that are often service projects in our community.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely we are! We follow Christ, we teach of Christ, we worship Christ, and we testify of Christ. To be a Christian is to believe in Christ and that he is the Son of living God and to live his teachings and obey his commandments. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is Gods authority delegated to worthy mortal men to act in His name for the salvation and blessing of His children. It has always existed in Gods church. Adam was the first man to hold this priesthood. It is given, or delegated, to man by the laying on of hands by someone who already holds it. This authority allows men to perform, with validity, ordinances necessary for salvation such as baptism and the conferral of the Gift of the Holy Ghost. It is also used to bless and heal the sick. This Authority, which was given to Christs' Twelve Apostles during his mortal ministry, was lost as the people rejected the Savior and his gospel, but was restored in the 1800's by the prophet Joseph Smith. We can know that Joseph Smith was a prophet by reading and praying about the Book of Mormon, which is one of the greatest fruits of the prophets ministry. Show more Show less
