Hi I'm Jake Harris

I grew up in Lindon, Utah. I've been called to serve in the California Redlands Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My entire life I've always been really involved with music. I started learning the piano and guitar at an early age and by the time I was 13 years old, I was playing rhythm guitar in a cover rock band with 17 and 18 year old kids. I love classic rock music, going to concerts, and I even collect vintage vinyl records. I love being outside. I grew up riding dirt bikes and one of my goals is to do some desert racing after my mission. I love snowboarding, camping, shooting, etc.. All summer long I'm either sleeping outside or out camping with my buddies. I love old cars and old music. I always get told I was born in the wrong time. When I was 16, I bought a 1967 VW bug and I drove that thing everywhere even though it always felt like it was going to blow up. I'm planning on going to college once I'm home, not sure where yet, but I want to go for 6 years and get a masters degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is nothing in this world that can bring me more happiness than this gospel. I have seen broken families brought back together. I have seen friends so far off the deep end that have been able to come back and get on the right path because of the gospel. I know the church is true and I couldn't imagine my life without it.

How I live my faith

I've grown up going to church every Sunday. I've taught lessons at church, volunteered for service projects, and have helped organized youth activities. I go hometeaching with my dad and we share lessons and build strong relationships with families in our ward. I've also done a lot of yard work and other service projects for the elderly and other people in need.
