Hi I'm Jim

I was a Corporate Jet Pilot for 40 years, and have flown to every continent in the world, except Antarctica. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where I served for four years. While in the Navy I learned to fly. When I graduated from college, I began my career as a corporate pilot, flying for several different companies over a period of 40 years. I am now retired and spent my time as an aviation consultant and as a grandpa. With 17 grandchildren, that keeps me pretty busy. I am very active in family history research and love music. I play guitar and trumpet, and actively participate in our local church choir and other singing groups.

Why I am a Mormon

As a youth, I had a Christian upbringing, but had many questions about some of the beliefs of the many churches my family attended. Following my marriage to a wonderful Mormon girl, I began attending church with her, and after a number of years, found that the questions I had as a youth were answered in the doctrine of the LDS Church. Reading the Book of Mormon was instrumental in my acceptance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I found that it is a wonderful companion to the Holy Bible and opens my understanding of His Gospel and makes me want to be like Him.

How I live my faith

I have served in many leadership and teaching positions in the church, most recently as the clerk of my local church. I have served as a youth leader in the church and in the Boy Scout program and love working with the young men and young women. As a home teacher, I have the opportunity to watch over a number of families in our local church to make sure their spiritual and temporal needs are being met. Serving in the community is important to me and I have participated in many service projects and activities for local charitable organizations.
