Hi I'm Kris Hinckley

I am a Mormon and live in Colleyville, Texas. I am a CPA by profession, am married and have 9 children and 12 grandchildren.

About Me

My family has lived in Colleyville for about a year. Previously we lived in Carrollton Tx, and we had lived there for about 20 years. We moved recently to be closer to my office which is in Arlington Tx. I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1982, and we have been in Texas since then. Our children have been involved in sports, Boy Scouts and we are currently actively involved with baseball with our two boys.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe strongly in the teachings of the Savior and of his atonement and resurrection. Those teachings lead me and my family to paths of safety and happiness in today's chaotic and troubled world. I see how the Savior directed the affairs of his ancient church through the leadership of apostles and prophets, and recognize that he does the same today. Teachings of modern day prophets help me to deal with modern day problems and challenges. I also recognize the the absolute necessity of ordinances such as baptism, marriage, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and understand that those ordinances can only be performed by those authorized by God. That priesthood authority, which was taken when the world put to death and rejected the Savior's ancient apostles has been restored in modern time, by divinely appointed messengers. Those messengers have been sent by God to restore that which was lost so that the world can benefit now by the true teaching and priesthood of God.

How I live my faith

As part of my church activities, I have always worked with the Boy Scouts. Currently I serve as the scout committee chairman, and have the opportunity to work with many fine young men and adult leaders. 5 of my 7 boys are Eagle Scouts, and the other two boys are very close. I am also a "home teacher" where my son Shawn and I are assigned to visit a couple of families of families each month. I always appreciate calls from these families when they have things that we can help with. We work hard as a family to attend church as a family, to have family and personal scripture study and prayers every day. We also try to teach our kids the blessings of service and love of Jesus Christ, and to have a great appreciation for His atonement and resurrection.
