Hi I'm Heather Harper

I know the Savior lives and loves us! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom of 3 boys! I love to exercise every morning with my friends who come to my home and that's how I get my girl time in each day. :) Date nights with my husband are the best, I love any kind of vacation that involves doing nothing but basking in the hot sun, and am learning to enjoy small DIY projects. I love spending time with my little family whether we're doing something active, having a picnic at the playground, or going to Six Flags! I keep track of all our memories by taking lots of pictures and blogging.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! Believe it or not, I am thankful for trials and hard times that keep me humble and on my knees pleading with my Heavenly Father. I know He loves us and hears our prayers and that we are being guided on this journey on earth that leads to being reunited with Him someday. I know things happen for a reason and that it is for our own learning and growth. If we have faith and trust in Him, He will "make weak things become strong." I have always had a testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel, of a living prophet on the earth, why we live the commandments, pay tithing, fast, and serve. But my personal love for the Savior came a few years ago when our third son was born 10 weeks early. I know Jesus Christ suffered in the garden & on the cross for our sins but he also bore all the pains and afflictions we would ever face. During the 10 weeks we were in the NICU we came to understand the Atonement and hard it was for our Heavenly Father to withdraw his spirt and watch His one and only son suffer. We felt the presence of the Savior many times and had many prayers answered and witnessed miracles! It wasn't easy and things did not go smoothly every day, but we trusted in Him, we submitted our will to His, we grew more than we ever imagined we could individually, as a couple, and as a family. I am amazed at the love our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has for each and everyone of us and that they are always with us as long as we seek them. I am a Mormon. I know without a doubt that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son in a grove of trees and through him, the fullness of the gospel was restored to the earth. I have met many wonderful friends in all the places we've lived who believe most of what we believe, but I feel so blessed to be a part of a church that has ALL the answers and provides a way for me to be with my family forever and live with our Savior again!

How I live my faith

We try to live each day thinking, "what would Jesus do?" I think that's the best way to stop and think before we react, speak, or do something we later regret. He is the perfect example and I try to live and teach by the things he taught us. I live each day knowing that I'm unique and do some things differently than those around me. I look for opportunities to tell people why we choose to live this way, to do the things we do (or don't do), and to bear my testimony. Simple phrases of the convictions I have lead to bigger conversations, and when it's done with love and kindness, hearts are open and relationships are built to allow for more opportunities. I find the most joy and happiness when I give of my time; whether it's making meals for those who are sick or just had a baby, giving rides to church activities, going to visit members of the ward to see how they're doing, teaching lessons in church, or simply giving all of my time to my family, I know I'm being a servant and doing what Jesus would want me to do and that brings me peace.
