Hi I'm Mārtiņš

I'm from Riga, Latvia. I work as a translator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi. My name is Mārtiņš. I'm from Riga, Latvia. I work as a translator.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because back in 2000 I met the missionaries on the street and they told me about the Book of Mormon which is another witness of Jesus Christ, the Prophet Joseph Smith, that he saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, and that he was called as a prophet of God, and I believed them. I have felt the Holy Ghost testifying to me that this is Christ's Church. I feel the Holy Ghost when I read the scriptures, that is why I know that they are true. Going to Church on Sundays also helps me to feel the Holy Ghost and God's love, and the love of other Church members. I have felt the Holy Ghost testifying to me that if I remain a faithful member of His Church, I will inherit eternal life. That gives me peace and joy in my life.

How I live my faith

I like to read the scriptures and to try to follow the Lords guidance. I like to fulfill my calling in the Church. I feel that the Lord is happy with me when I'm serving diligently. I feel that the Lord desires that I would be more kind, more loving, and more obedient. I also feel that the Lord desires that I would always say the truth and be honest.

What is being a Mormon like?

Mārtiņš
It is both challenging and exciting to be a Mormon. If you as a Mormon obey God's laws, God promises you peace, joy and happiness in this life and eternal life in the life to come. Also, God has said He will help those who believe in Him to overcome all challenges (see 1 Corinthians 10:13). Being a Mormon means striving to follow God's will, do what is right, and follow Christ.
