Hi I'm Ami Stephens

I'm a world traveler, Washington native, BYUI student, a full time missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I am a student and have always loved learning. I attended byui and am earning my degree in social work. I also enjoy many other things like spending time reading, scrap booking, watching movies, going to the beach, and spending time with my family and friends. I love movies and music, and basically live my life in movie quotes. I love to travel and have spent a semester in Russia teaching English and traveling around Eastern Europe, and I am excited for when I can travel again to see more of Gods creations. I am also a missionary in the Washington Vancouver mission and have loved learning and growing in the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping others do the same.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my own choice and decision. I was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was baptized at age 8. However when I was growing up, my parents divorced and I found that I didn't want anything to do with the church that I belonged to. I had a seminary teacher who challenged me to read The Book of Mormon and read it with the desire to know for myself. For some reason I took this challenge and I sincerely prayed about the truthfulness of this book. The spirit of God testified to me that The Book of Mormon is true and that this is Christ's restored church on the earth. I was filled with peace and happiness and with a renewed determination to follow what I have been taught in church. I chosen to be a Mormon because I know it is true. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living and true Prophet of God and he receives modern day revelation, just like the prophets of old. I know that Jesus Christ lives and He died for me and for you, His atonement is real and all encompassing. He is my Savior and my King, and through Him I will be saved, I will find peace and happiness in this life and have comfort even in the darkness of times. Because of this testimony that I have, I choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by trying to come unto Christ in the things that I do. Faith is increased line up line and I build my faith by reading in the scriptures, the Bible and The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I also spend time in prayer with my Father in Heaven asking for His guidance and direction in my life. As I build my faith I find myself wanting to live my faith by participating in my ward and by serving and being the hands of Christ. I am currently serving as a full time missionary, to help others strengthen their faith and testimonies in Christ. I start each day by asking God who He needs me to help that day and He guides my day and as I align my will with His, I am living my faith.
