Hi I'm Hunter

I'm a world traveler. I scuba dive. I run. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have had the experience in living in a number of different, foreign places. Most places I have lived, the gospel is not yet allowed to be openly preached or shared. Through these experiences, I have been able to foster a deep and greater appreciation for the gospel, and greater gratitude for when I am in an area where I can openly share and talk about my beliefs. Through my travels I have concentrated on learning Russian and Bengali, which both presented unique challenges. By learning different languages I hope to be able to communicate with a wider range of people and tell more people about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was raised in a British schooling system and study Materials Science and Engineering in the USA. I am about to go on my mission to Long Beach California, and I will be speaking Cambodian. Some of my hobbies include long distance running (the longer the better), scuba diving, mountain climbing and being in the great outdoors. I also enjoy studying maths and physics, along with different less spoken, difficult languages, or languages that are commonly not taught often in school. Some of the greatest experiences that I have had have been climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, travelling well into the Arctic Circle and diving deep wrecks in the Mediterranean Sea.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because my lifestyle has given me the greatest sense of satisfaction and peace. I am happy when I live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that if I sin, or make mistakes, that through the proper authority and through Christ's atonement I can be cleansed of my sins. Through service and living the standards that I have set for myself, I feel happy all the time. Although there are times that are difficult and challenging, the gospel makes everything worthwhile and turn out for the best. I know that this is the only true church on the face of the Earth, and it is led personally by the Saviour himself.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through service to others and trying to better myself. I have served in a number of callings that have involved planning, involving and activating other people, and inviting new people to come back to Christ and His church. The greatest acts of service however are to my family and the people that I live with (such as roommates). By serving the people that you are close to and are with every day, you give yourself the opportunity to grow and also give an opportunity for the Saviour to work through you. Service brings great joy. I also try to better myself on a daily basis. Although I know that I can never be perfect, I can strive to be the best that I possibly can be. By trying to be a better person, I feel that it will better qualify me to be a better provider of service and a greater example to people that are not of my faith.
