Hi I'm Jayden Williams

I grew up in South Weber, Utah. I play the tenor saxophone. I'm going on a mission to Guatemala. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an 18 year old who just graduated high school. Some of my favorite subjects in school were jazz band, engineering, and PE. I played the tenor saxophone in the high school wind ensemble and jazz band. I also really liked coming up with new ideas and designs then actually getting to put together the final designs in my engineering classes. I like playing sports which is why I enjoyed PE, and I played on the school tennis team. It was never one of my favorite sports, but I love playing it now. I really love doing things outdoors like camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting. I especially love doing things with my family. They are a lot of fun to be around.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know I am much happier and more filled with the Spirit when I am living the gospel. I know from experience that this is Jesus Christ's church restored back on the Earth. The Spirit has confirmed this to me many times. I know that Jesus is the Savior of this world and that we must answer His call to follow him because He is the only way to return to our Heavenly Father. Through His Atonement, we can be made clean before His eyes, and we can experience true joy and fulfillment. We can speak to our Heavenly Father through prayer to seek guidance and answers to personal questions that we have. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church with the authority of the priesthood. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ written by the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. I know that we have a living prophet on the Earth today, President Thomas S. Monson. He gives direction and guidance to this church under the direction of the Lord and will never lead the church in any way that isn't in accordance with God's will.

How I live my faith

I always loved going to our ward's youth activities each week. We always did fun things that were wholesome activities, and it's a great way to make friends since the people in your ward can become some of your closest friends. I like going around and doing service projects for people in my community such as my eagle scout project. I am leaving to serve a mission and share the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who haven't had the opportunity to accept it.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Jayden Williams
Baptism is a way for people to show that they love God and are willing to obey His commandments. It is also a transformation from living a worldly life to living a spiritual life. Just like with a lot of things done in the Gospel, it is very symbolic. It is done by immersion in water to symbolize our birth when we are above the water, our death when we are submerged, and our resurrection when we come back out of the water. It also symbolizes being washed clean because when we are baptized, we are made clean and pure in God's eyes, and all of our previous sins are washed away. Show more Show less
