Hi I'm Zander

I am from Meridian, Idaho, otherwise known as Potato Land. I have my Eagle Scout and I'm a CODA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like basketball, i was the varsity basketball captain for my school for two years. But I do not want to play basketball professionally, I would rather play volleyball. I have not gone to college yet, but I have sent in my application for Boise State University and Brigham Young University to study Communications and maybe become a film director, a news reporter, or an actor. I am the oldest child of 4 boys in our home so that is pretty awesome. My parents are both deaf, but they have been recently divorced.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because Jesus Christ's Atonement has helped me realize my purpose here on this earth. I have been in dark places and I never knew how I would get out, but the Savior and His atonement helped me to get out of that dark place and to get on the right path and be able to keep that by enduring to the end. Many other people that I know don't feel the same way I do about religion, but knowing that someone is always there for you, when you don't think that anyone is there is so comforting to me. I usually like to stay by myself so that I can feel my Savior's love for me. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to come back to Him and I want others to feel the same way. That is one of the reasons that I decided to go on my mission. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it is all true and that a man can get nearer to God by reading and abiding by what is in it. Reading the Book of Mormon helped to get out of that dark place and realize where the light is. In Christ. I don't know what compelled me to do so on the night that I started reading it again, but I knew, deep down, that I was doing the right thing. I felt comforted, something that I hadn't felt in forever and I knew someone was there for me. Prayer helped me to realize that further and become more closer to Christ. He is ALWAYS there and I didn't know why I had gone into the dark, but it helped me to realize that no matter what problems that we have, the situations that we are in, He is always there with his arms outstretched ready to receive us.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary called to serve in American Sign Language. I visit people not of our faith and those who are less active and try to get them to come to church. It is fun to learn about how to teach others and to get to know other people through that and know them as a friend, not just a missionary. I also have received my Eagle Scout and was able to do lots of service through that. It is one of my greatest accomplishments to be able to receive that.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes we are Christians, based off the ideal that we accept Jesus Christ, the only perfect man to walk the Earth, as our Savior and Redeemer. Everything we need to get back to Heaven is because of him. Show more Show less
