Hi I'm Dale

I live in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The best thing about life is family. I'm a mom and a new grandma and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a happy mom of three adult children. Family vacations are some of my best memories of raising my kids. I have loved tennis and hiking over the years, and follow a few professional sports teams like basketball and football. I ran a marathon in 2011. From training and running a marathon I learned that I can do hard things. When most people, at my age, would be retiring I am going to school to get my BS in Marriage and Family Studies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was eight years old but that is far from the reason I am a member today. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I believe in living prophets and apostles who lead and guide His church on the earth. There is no doubt in my mind that the young boy, Joseph Smith, when he was fourteen years old, saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. He later restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth with Heavenly help. I have read the Book of Mormon and add my witness to the many millions who have read it, that it is true and it helps me to know the teachings and principles my Heavenly Father wants for me. As a child I obeyed God's laws and got baptized but as an adult my faith has grown stronger and I realize that that little act of faith has put me on an eternal journey where I will be able to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I organize the ladies in my church to help with meals for those who have a baby or who are sick and can't cook. I go and visit others who may be new in the area to make sure they feel welcome. I help organize events to teach cooking and how to be self-reliant. Occasionally I give talks on how to be a better disciple of Jesus Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Dale
We know that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins but what does that mean to me. It means when I have trials in my life I can turn to the Savior for peace. It means that I can learn of Him and take comfort in His power to save. If I choose not to put my trust in His atonement then I'm saying I do not believe in the atonement. He gave up His life so I wouldn't have to suffer and I know I can find peace and comfort when I put my faith in Him. I can't save myself. I can only be saved through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
