Hi I'm Amy Hellewell

I'm a California girl and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California and love playing sports. After graduating from BYU I moved back to California and began volunteering on a Tall Ship. This taught me leadership skills and how to work with people. I also began working on the Tall Ship and working with a handyman and began to get interested in becoming a firefighter. I got a full time job as a firefighter where I met my husband and we have been married for 2 years now. I've gained a new family: 3 kids and 2 grandkids with one on the way. Life keeps getting better and better.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents have always been amazing examples of the type of person I've wanted to be as I grew older. I had the opportunity to serve a church mission in Italy where I learned why I was Mormon. I'm a Mormon because I've experienced the joy, happiness and blessings I receive when I live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I see the influence of the church in my life and person it has helped me become. Following the example of Jesus Christ isn't always easy but as I learn to become more like Christ I see the joy that it brings my life and the life of those around me.

How I live my faith

I live in a great ward where I am the secretary in the women's organization of the church. I love the opportunity the church gives me to serve. At least once a month me and another sister get the opportunity to visit with and teach other sisters in the ward. I'm recently married and this gives my husband and I the opportunity to learn and grow together in the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we learn to do this our love for each other increases.
