Hi I'm Lucy

I have a wonderful life full of wonderful people. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi, My name is Lucy and I'm 19 years old. I'm serving as a full-time missionary in Copenhagen Denmark. I'm the second oldest out of five kids. I'm from Salt Lake City Utah. I like to draw, take pictures, dance, sing, and play the piano. The beginning of 2014 (February-May) I taught English to little kids in St Petersburg Russia. I loved living away from home and experiencing a different culture, and finding out what it's like to teach. I love being a missionary and sharing what I believe has become a passion of mine. I love Denmark. This is a decision I will never ever regret

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, as were my parents. My ancestors came across the plains of America with the Mormon Pioneers. I went to the children's primary classes and have gone to church almost every Sunday of my life. But just because I was born into the gospel doesn't mean that's why I continue to go to church. I don't remember exactly when it was that I started to have a testimony of my own; it's kind of been growing over the years ever since I started to take seminary classes at my high school in 9th grade. This past year while I was living in Russia, I knew for sure that this church is the true church. In Utah there are church buildings everywhere, in fact my church was just around the block from my house, but in Russia it took us an hour to get to the church building. Because it took so long to get there, I knew that the people that came really wanted to be there. I could see this glow that radiated from their eyes. When they prayed I could feel the sincerity of what they were saying and I knew that they knew God and they knew that He died for them, for me, for you, for everyone. Just being in that kind of environment made me realize how special and amazing this gospel is. I am a Mormon because I feel God's love for me every day of my life. I am a Mormon because God listens to my prayers. I'm not a Mormon because of what other people believe, but because of what I, personally, believe. I know that God lives, that He suffered and died for all of us so that we can return to live with Him again. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God and that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from Gold plates. I know that families can be together forever and that we will see our loved ones again. I love this church and I am so grateful for the blessings it brings to my life. In the name of my Savior, of YOUR Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I decided to serve a mission; to share my belief in God with the world because I feel so strongly about it. If you found a really great recipe for chocolate chip cookies you wouldn't want to keep it to yourself, you'd want to share it, right? I've felt the love that my Heavenly Father feels for me so strongly and I've personally felt the effects of the Atonement in my life. I want to tell the whole that I know what Grace is and how they can feel it too.
