Hi I'm Dave

I'm married and a father of 4 children and 17 grandchildren. I am retired and love my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Pomona, California. I am married and have 4 children and 17 grandchildren. I retired from working in a small family-owned tax preparation, bookkeeping and payroll service business. My wife and I live in a beautiful area of the mountains at about 4000 feet. We have deer on our property and sometimes the black bears. Vegetable gardening is one of my hobbies and it’s somewhat of a challenge at this elevation. From my youth, sports has been another interest of mine. I played baseball, football, basketball and shot putted on the track team. Though I don’t play as much as I used to, I still follow some of my favorite teams. My family and faith are the most important part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith and have actively participated in it for over 70 years. I love the teachings of this faith, which teaching have been an anchor in my life. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the church. There is a special spirit in the church, among the members. I want that in my life. Because of the responsibilities that I have had in helping others in the church and seeing their progress - due to their greater obedience to the laws of God - my testimony has been further strengthened. I know that God is real and that He loves us. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Joseph Smith did see God the Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove and was given the authority, by deity, to organized His church. I am eternally grateful for my membership in Jesus Christ’s church and that my family is forever.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in the church and have worked with some of the best people I know. In one of the leadership positions in the church, I worked with the youth and adult members teaching, counseling and organizing needed service within the congregation. One of my favorite activities in the church is visiting monthly certain families each month - checking on their well being, seeing if I can be of help, and leaving them a spiritual message of hope. I have been a scoutmaster and helped my scouts achieve their various ranks - many became Eagle Scouts. In the community I coached girls soccer. For several years I was a member of our community’s Interfaith Council; our combined churches worked together many times for a variety of purposes.
