Hi I'm Lon Addams

Marsha and I have five children and nine grandchildren. We are currently serving an LDS mission at BYU-Hawaii for one year.

About Me

I recently retired from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. For 30 years, I taught Managerial Communication and Management/Leadership Principles. During that time, I was able to write and have published a number of articles on management and communication. One of my favorite things to do in life is to go backpacking and flyfishing in the wilderness of Wyoming with family and close friends. Many Boy Scouts and Venturer Scouts have accompanied me and found the joy of being in the mountains and fishing on streams and lakes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I studied the gospel of Jesus Christ, prayed about its truthfulness, and received an answer from the Holy Ghost that the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I love my Father in Heaven and his son, Jesus Christ. We are blessed to have a living prophet today.

How I live my faith

Earlier in my life, I answered the call to serve a mission for the LDS Church and served in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee; this was called the Gulf States Mission. Now, there are several missions in this regional area of the South. One of the joys of my life is helping young adults--through college teaching and church groups. Now, once again, I am serving college students at BYU-Hawaii. My wife Marsha is at my side and together we try to make a difference in young peoples' lives, particularly those who love the Lord and are trying to follow Him. We interact with young adults every day, and we both love it. The Lord has been so good to us; this is a time when we can try to repay our many blessings from God.
