Hi I'm Ryan

Born and raised in Utah, I moved to California at 18 to serve a two-year mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a guy who loves to be active! I love to get up and do things. I've been into running since I was about 8 years old, and I've also spent my time doing things like photography, sketching and digital art. My favorite thing about these activities is that I can do them with my family. We've competed in running events together, we've taken photos together, etc, etc. That's what makes it so fun! Family time is number 1 on my list. I graduated high school in 2014 and began service as a full-time missionary for the Church shortly after. I've loved my time in California! Even if the rest of my day is terrible, at least I know it will be sunny outside :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church is the best environment for me to raise my family. How am I so sure? I know that the fruit of the Church and the fruit of the Prophet Joseph Smith is good. The Savior Himself taught, "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit" (Matthew 7: 16-17). I have read the Book of Mormon at least three times in just the past year, and I know that it is good. It testifies of Jesus Christ our Savior and has strengthened my faith in Him. The fruit is good! I love the ways that following God's ancient and modern prophets blesses me with guidance and strength. As I continue faithfully, I know that my children will be blessed as well.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing daily to try to be like my Savior. Am I perfect like He is? Not even close. But I have inched closer by trying to bring my choices in line with what He would have me do. So what does that mean for my day-to-day? Right now I'm a full-time missionary for the Church, so every day my job is to wake up and serve as many people as I can before I go back to sleep at night. Missionaries share the Gospel with people. We invite people to come closer to Christ. We serve in communities and in homes, doing everything from teaching and praying to pulling weeds and digging holes. I love it! My service as a full-time missionary ends in 2016, but I will continue the attitude and the pattern of service that I've learned as a missionary. The Savior served, and if I'm ever going to know him I know that I must at least try to live as He did. I'll never be perfect in this life, so I am very thankful for the gifts of repentance and grace.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Ryan
Missionaries teach a message about Jesus Christ and His importance in our Heavenly Father's plan for us. Because God loves each of us, he wants us to repent and be clean through Christ so that we can return and live with Him someday. Missionaries will show you specific and profound ways that you can come closer to Jesus Christ and thus enjoy the blessings that our Father in heaven has promised us. Missionaries are friendly, and they don't intend to force their beliefs on anyone. Everything they ask of you is simply by invitation. I'm a missionary, and I enjoy inviting others to come closer to Christ because because it brings hope, peace, and happiness without fail. Show more Show less
