Hi I'm Ian

I was born in Melbourne, Australia, and grew up in Virginia, USA. I got married in 2013 to my beautiful wife, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm currently studying at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. I returned from a full-time mission in the Netherlands and Belgium in October, 2012. Since then, I love to bike and spend time outdoors with my wife. We met in January of 2013, and were married at the end of that year, on December 21, 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this Church by my mother, who is a convert to the Church, and one of the only two members in her family. I gained my own answer from God that this Church is true by attending church as a boy every Sunday, reading from the Book of Mormon, and when I was around 17, I finally started praying sincerely to know the truth. Only after I was honest with God about my life and testimony was I able to receive an answer from Him. That meant to me that He heard me, and I knew after that that this is the True and Restored Church of Jesus Christ. After that, I decided to serve a mission, and was called to the Netherlands and Belgium where I was able to learn Dutch to preach the Gospel. My testimony grew immeasurably on my mission, and I learned a lot about myself and about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I have a personal relationship with Them. I know that Jesus died for me, and that Heavenly Father sent Him because He loves me, and wants me to return to live with Him in Heaven. My wife and I were married in the Temple, meaning that we are sealed for eternity, and will be together in the next life. Gaining a testimony is not always easy, but it has been a huge blessing, and increased my happiness in ways I can't even describe with words.

How I live my faith

My wife and I read the Scriptures and pray together daily. I try to pray often, and I attend Church every Sunday. I currently serve in my ward as the Ward Mission Leader. I help teach and inspire other members to share their faith with others around them. I try to go out of my way to do nice things for people, and make friends with those that I meet. I love talking to people, and it's almost always a good experience to chat with a stranger; I frequently come away with a new friend when I do!
