Hi I'm Mary

I grew up in Spokane, Washington and was raised Catholic. I joined the Mormon Church when I was almost 19 years old.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church for over 4 decades and have been blessed with a very full and rewarding life in spite of some significant challenges. I am the mother of 3 and grandmother of 8, and was widowed while in my mid-40's. I have spent approximately 25 years as a mental health counselor until recently retiring. I served a senior-sister mission in New York City. Shortly after completing my mission, I remarried and greatly expanded my immediate family to 8 children (+ 8 spouses) and 16 grandchildren plus my husband and myself for a grand total of 34 people! With my husband's recent retirement we are anticipating a couple's mission at some point.

Why I am a Mormon

The beliefs and values that have always been part of who I am are consistent with the doctrines and practices of the Church.

How I live my faith

I am a strong believer in "practicing what we preach," or living what we profess to believe. Throughout my life, I have had many opportunities to serve both in my community and in my Church. I have particularly enjoyed volunteering in the schools my children have attended and in serving in callings in Church that effect the lives of youth and women. I try to remember that human beings usually remember how you made them feel verses what you had to say.
