Hi I'm Star

I'm Tongan. I'm a total goofball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm now 18 years of age and just about to start my adult life as I have just completed my four years of high school. I'm also the baby in my family of five kids including me. While in high school I participated in sports, choir, and was in National Honor Society. My favorite sport is basketball and its my passion. I love the idea that five individuals on the court at one time can come together and work almost as one. Passing and running and shooting and jumping all in rhythm with one another. The concept of teamwork is so crucial to gain an understanding of it in your younger years so one can apply it when they reach adulthood. Whether with your spouse, your co-workers, or even with friends teamwork is always required to cultivate a healthey relationship between yourself and that other person or group of persons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the Church just as any other typical Mormon kid has. My Mom was a stalwart true devot member and always tried to rear me and my siblings in the right direction. My father was not in the picture as he abandoned me and my family when I was only a child. Not having a father in my life was hard. I didn't have that other half of what I needed so my mother had to play both parts for quite some time. From an early age I often asked myself why. Why did this need to happen? What was the point? I thought that there could be no God or Christ as if they were true then they too must have abandoned me just as my father did. Well a couple of years later this wonderful man came into my family's life and he eventually married my Mom and became my father. He raised me and me have such a bond as if we were blood related. I love him. Now with these questions still struggling in my mind I finally decided that I would put my questions to the test. I prayed one day and asked God if this was the true church. I can tell you with all the convicion of my soul that I felt something that I cannot deny, even if I were confronted with death I know I could not deny it. I know that God revealed to me that this was the true church. I felt not only his power but his eternal and perfect love he had for me as his son. I knew that throughout all those years he did not abandon me. I can now look back and see his hand in every second of my life. I love him and know that this is his true restored church that has his truth in its entirety.

How I live my faith

Well in the past I have served in certain positions as a leader of my quorom which ranged from president to first and second counselor and even down to Recorder. I have always participated from service as it was instilled in me as a young child to always help those who are in need of such assistance that I could provide. One of the greatest ways I can show how I live my faith is my opportunity I have to be a missionary. I received my call here a couple of months back and was called to labor in the Fiji Suva mission and I report to the MTC on July 30th. I'm so excited to finally have the opportunity to do what I've prepared my whole life for. I will be able to teach what Christ would have me teach. This is how I will show my true colors and truly live my faith.
