Hi I'm Seth

I'm a Filipino and grew up in Utah. I'm 19 years old and competitively run track. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love to be outdoors. That is my first choice for activities. Whether it be hiking, camping, rock climbing, sand volleyball, other sports, you name it. If it's outdoors I'm down for fun! I love to be around family and friends because they're the ones that help us through life the most. I love to help people! If you're in need of something and I can offer help in any way, I'll be there. I'm currently serving an LDS mission and love to serve. Before I went on my mission however, I was a college student. I love learning new skills and bettering myself in any way possible. I also love to meet new people and love to hear their stories. Everyone has a unique story.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into it. But I continue to be a Mormon today because the Gospel of Jesus Christ has strengthened me throughout all my trials. Everyone has trials and tribulations unique to them, and I testify that this gospel can help every single person if they let it. Jesus Christ suffered in Gethsemane. He suffered every pain and every sorrow that has ever been felt and that ever will be felt. I know that he knows how I feel on the most personal level. I have some spinal problems with my lowest two vertebrae. I was told that if it got any worse I could possibly become paralyzed. Now, this tore my world apart because, as mentioned above, I'm a track runner. I run sprints. Track was what I was good at, and to be told that I needed to stop running shattered every hope and dream I had. God strengthened me through this trial and blessed my body. Through the power of the priesthood, or the power of God, I was given a blessing by my father. Time went on. I kept racing and getting faster and faster. A year later I was exceeding my 100 meter dash goals. My senior year in high school, I had a goal set for 10.70. My freshman year in college I ran a 10.58. The Lord truly works miracles in the lives of those that have faith. This gospel and the knowledge of who I am: a son of my living Father in Heaven, has given me enough strength to push forward in this life through everything. I promise that it can do the same for you.

How I live my faith

As I mentioned about myself, I am currently serving an LDS mission. This is one way I live my faith. I am giving up two years of my life to serve my God to the best of my ability. I am bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear it and accept it. Before my mission I served the young men in my local youth group by teaching them and helping them learn. However, they taught me just as much as I thought I was teaching them. Another way I try to live my faith is to be caring to every person I meet. Sometimes it's difficult, but what isn't difficult in life? Every person needs a friend to love them.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

The Mormon lifestyle is unlike any other. Mormons try to better themselves every day and help those around them to become greater as well. We do this by being humble and loving, strengthening and encouraging every day. Unfortunately we aren't perfect and fall short many times. Every day is a new day and we can just work harder tomorrow! That's the mentality that I see from the members that I know. Show more Show less
