Hi I'm Yvonne

I grew up in Las Vegas and I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints (a Mormon).

About Me

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, roles that I absolutely love! I graduated from College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Prior to graduating I worked as a legal, private and medical secretary. I am an avid genealogist and have been researching my ancestors since my teens.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with all of my heart that I am a daughter of God, and that He loves me and all of his children. I know that Jesus is the Christ, the literal Son of God and that he came to the earth to atone for our sins and that He was resurrected, overcoming death for all mankind. I knew and believed that from my earliest childhood, though I was raised a Methodist. It was at a Worldwide Youth Methodist Camp I attended in my teens that I realized that Methodists do not have that knowledge. When I returned home I spoke to my Methodist Minister about the matter. He agreed that he nor the Methodist Church shared those beliefs. Because of my strong convictions, He recommended that I search other churches. I did attend many other churches before I found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). When I finally did attend a Mormon Sacrament Meeting (several years later) and learned of the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ upon the earth, I embraced it with all of my heart.

How I live my faith

I served as a consultant in (Mormon) Church Family History Centers helping anyone who desired information on how to research and find their ancestors. I worked with many of the Auxiliary's of the church that included young children, youth, and women. My husband and I taught "Temple Preparation Classes" as well as "Marriage and Family Relations Classes."
