Hi I'm Michael Thompson

I'm a Missionary. I have Type 1 Diabetes. I can do anything. I am a Mormon

About Me

I graduated from high school and had a job as a bagger at my local grocery store. I have been playing the cello since I was in 6th grade. I love doing 3D art such as paper mache, and ceramics. I love to dance. I enjoy any type of dance party/activity and I love to Swing Dance. Before I started my mission I loved to go on at least 2 dates every weekend. But I never had a girlfriend. This was my own decision, because I didn't want anything to stop or distract me from going on a mission. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was 11. At first, this was a big obstacle. Now, it's just another part of life. Even though I have my challenges, they can't limit me from anything. I won't let them

Why I am a Mormon

Well, it started out as me just following what my parents did their whole lives. One day I thought, "Why am I doing this? Is there really any point?" I decided to test it out and see if this church was true or not. I started to read the Book of Mormon and to contemplate it's words. I felt of it's truthfulness and decided that it's teachings had to be true. That of course meant that the man who helped bring it into the world, Joseph Smith, was a true prophet of God. This meant that we have prophets on the earth today that really talk to God and receive instruction from him. This was a big deal to me, so I'm going to stick with it. I challenge you to try reading the Book of Mormon. I promise that you too will feel it's truthfulness and power.

How I live my faith

I was a part of the local young men's group in my church. I participated in the activities every week whether it be service, learning skills, or playing baseball. I attend church every week for 3 hours unless I have additional meetings. I am serving a mission. This is when I leave my home for 2 years and serve the people and try to help them feel more joy and happiness in their lives. I do this through service, and teaching them about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ
