Hi I'm Preston

I study social science for fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old, the oldest of five children in my family. During high school, I was involved in choir, academics, and the city youth council. Though I enjoy nearly all subjects, social science is my specialty. In fact, I regularly read books about psychology, politics, and history for fun. Though I do not yet know for sure what career path I will take, I am leaning towards becoming a lawyer.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents were Mormon, as were all of my grandparents and great-grandparents, so I have been raised in the gospel of Jesus Christ all of my life. However, my parents have never forced me; rather, they have shown me the right direction and encouraged me to follow what was right. And I have. As I grew older, I diligently studied the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other scriptures on my own, and my parents have never had trouble getting me to attend and participate in church - I wanted to go for myself. I pray and study the words of the Lord every day, not primarily because I have to, but because I want to continually grow and improve my own knowledge and conviction and help others do the same. In the Book of Mormon, we learn that God is willing to teach everyone the truth by the power of the Holy Ghost, and He has taught me the truth, whereby I know that the teachings and doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. I know these things unshakably. Even if my parents and friends and even local church leaders were to somehow rebel against them, I would still know these things are true, and I will never turn away from them.

How I live my faith

Beginning in August of 2014, I will be a full-time missionary for the Church in Spain, teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ for two years. As a missionary, I will invite others to "come unto Christ and be perfected in Him". I will share what I believe and indeed know to be true.
