Hi I'm Justin

I grew up in Nampa. I am going on a mission to Toronto,Canada; Mandarin speaking from October2014-September2016.I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a runner. I ran 2 years of track in high school and 1 year of cross country and currently I have ran 3 half marathons. I was also in a robotics club at school and am very interested in engineering as a career. I specifically would like to go into mechanical Engineering and even more specifically to go into working with prosthetics.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have prayed and studied the scriptures I have felt the spirit. The simple things of living the gospel are the most influential in our lives. Our Heavenly Father can let us know that he is there by the most simple acts of faith. For me he has done it countless times and i feel every time that i pray with a question or a problem that our Heavenly Father will give me an answer to those things. As well as many times where I can tell that I have been blessed from following the commandments. Times when my effort could not have been enough but when i have done what i could including keeping the commandments of our Heavenly Father that it has been enough. As I have prepared to go on a mission it was easy to tell that I was getting help to do the Lord's work because I got the very first job I had ever applied for. Through Prayer and scripture study and feeling the spirit at church and keeping the commandments I know that i have a loving Heavenly Father who sent his son to atone for our sins. That son is Jesus Christ the only person that lived a sinless life and gave us a perfect example. I know that we have living prophets on the Earth today and i know that because i have listened to prophets guidance. This has changed my world and has given me more joy than anything temporal could.

How I live my faith

Before my mission I walked an hour and 15 minutes to get to church on sunday. Though that seems like a long time to walk to just go to church I felt like it was a small thing to do when i have recieved so many blessings from the Savior's atonement. I also have a very strong testimony of personal prayer and scripture study. Prayer has brought so much peace into my life. It has been amazing to feel that whenever i need it that i can go to my Father in Heaven in prayer and really talk to him and feel of his love. That paired with being able to read the scriptures and to find the answers to life's questions and the questions that i have specifically has also brought special blessings into my life. Knowing that those 3 simple things are some of the easiest ways to do what Our Heavenly Father wants us to do and then to realize that those things are for us. He wants us to do things that are good for us and live with him again. After those three things i live my faith by going through life trying to do the right thing for everybody not just me if that be just smiling and being friendly to people or giving them service.
