Hi I'm Sara

I'm a Crossfitter. I'm a reader and a writer. I'm a lover of cookies, music and life. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

One day, my sister asked me a series of questions: "What is one word your family would use to describe you?" "What is one word your friends would use to describe you?" "What is one word your acquaintances and classmates would use to describe you?" and "What is one word a total stranger would use to describe you?" These questions caused me to reflect upon who I am, what I stand for, and what others see in me. I love my family more than anything. I love to workout and I do Crossfit! I play the piano and ukulele, and I love to sing. If there was nothing else to do, I could read and write all day long. I love Guatemala. I lived there for 18 months as missionary. My favorite time of the week is going to temple. I have dreams of traveling the world. I strive to be a disciple of Jesus Christ in all that I do. I want to be like him. I am a morning person! I love to start my day studying the scriptures. I feel the happiest when I am with the people I love the most and we are serving others together. I feel so grateful and blessed for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for the Holy Ghost to lead an guide me everyday, because life is hard. I aim to live a happy life - to smile when I don't feel like smiling, to work hard, and be positive. I love God. He makes my weaknesses strong. I hope my family would say I am "selfless." I hope my friends would say I am an "example." I hope my acquaintances would say that I am "kind." I hope total strangers could say I am "happy."

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of LOVE. The gospel of Jesus Christ is centered on love. Jesus Christ came to earth and loved every single person, even those who crucified him. Within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have never felt more love from all those around me. As individuals choose to love, they grow closer to the Savior and understand his gospel. Love centered lives and homes lead to happiness that can only be felt through the welcoming arms of Jesus Christ and his church. I am a mormon because of FAMILY. Because of Christ's restored gospel, I know I can be with my family and the people I love most for eternity. This gospel is full of LIGHT, LOVE, and HOPE. I am a Mormon because I KNOW The Book of Mormon is true. I have prayed and felt a peace of mind and comfort. These feelings have come to me through the Holy Ghost, who testifies of truth. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon means I am a part of Christ's church. Through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we can receive saving ordinances that will allow us to return to live with our families and our Heavenly Father once again as glorified, perfect beings. I know that Christ lives. He died for us. Through him we can repent of all our mistakes and we can make it back to him.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is not just an idea talked about during church, but a way of life. I have felt of the joy and peace of this gospel as I have loved and served those around me and have followed the commandments given to all of God's children. I love going to church activities and serving God's children, both old and young. I love observing young children as the pure light of Christ shines through each of their young eyes. One of my favorite times of every day is reading and studying the scriptures, both the Bible and The Book of Mormon. Through prayerful and continual study of these books, I have grown closer to my Heavenly Father and have found answers to my questions in life. I also look forward to the beginning and end of each day, in which I address my Father in Heaven through prayer and talk to him about anything and everything I want. I know He is there and He listens, and we can turn to him at all times. I aim to live my faith in everyday life, not just on Sundays. Through the Holy Ghost, I felt the love of my Savior for me and every one of his children as I have lived according to his standards.
