Hi I'm Jennifer

I have lived in Utah all my life. I even got the chance to participate in some Mormon Messages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read. I will honestly read anything. Some examples of the books I've read recently include A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Housseini, Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell, Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Bright Sided by Barbara Ehrenreich, and The Miracle of Forgiveness by Spencer W. Kimball. The best way to get to know me is to know the books I've read.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon and I know it is true. I have discovered for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet from God. This is the rock solid foundation of my testimony. Because I know these things, I also know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of God and that Thomas S. Monson is also God's living prophet today. I am a Mormon because I know it is the path God wants for me.

How I live my faith

I am a ward missionary in my church. Essentially, I'm a part-time missionary in a companionship of three; myself, another young girl my age, and a sister with three adult children. Our calling includes visiting older women who live alone. Most of these women have health conditions that prevent them from coming to church anymore. It's so cool to talk to these women because they have so much life experience. I feel wiser after our conversations.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

The priesthood is a valuable privilege. Yes, only men receive this priesthood but absolutely everyone receives blessings from it. Men simply hold the keys but we all actively participate in the priesthood when we are baptized, given the gift of the Holy Ghost, and married. The priesthood exists in many other circumstances but these are the three simplest forms of it. Show more Show less
