Hi I'm Amanda

I am a Wife, and a Mother of 3 beautiful kids. I'm a stay at home mom, I love to craft, dance, sing, and camp. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am from Pocatello Idaho, but currently live in Davenport Iowa due to my Husbands job. We have lived in Iowa for 2 years and miss our mountains and Family so much but we love our ward family here. I got Married to my best friend in 2007 and we have 3 Awesome kids! 2 girls and a little boy who has me wrapped around his little finger. I love my family and moving to Iowa has been a blessing for one reason, we have been able to spend a lot more time just as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

Like I said, I was born into the Church but found out for myself as a teenager that this is how i wanted to live my life. It wasn't until I graduated that I could actually think about myself and figure out the kind of person I wanted to be. I found a talk back in the 2004 April conference from Thomas S Monson "As we follow that Man of Galilee—even the Lord Jesus Christ—our personal influence will be felt for good wherever we are, whatever our callings." I decided to try to live my life as if Christ were at my side. I love my calling because of the songs we get to sing, I love the song "I'm trying to be like Jesus" because I am trying, everyday I am trying to be like Him. As a mother I try everyday to help my kids gain their own personal testimony. My 6 year old has already developed part of her testimony and it is amazing to see what kind of person she is becoming. She has already had missionary experiences and has shared her testimony at her school where she is the only member in her entire school. She has given her Book of Mormon to a friend and has invited her to church. I am hoping by the time she is a teen that she will have already found herself and will be that friend for someone else. I am so proud of all my kids and the great examples they already are!

How I live my faith

I am Serving in the Primary Presidency and love it. The primary has strengthened my testimony so much and I have a better understanding of the Gospel since I have been in there! I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life but it wasn't until I was 18 when I was really trying to find myself and figure out what influences needed to leave and what should stay in my life. This is when I gained a testimony in Prayer. I spent a lot of my time on my knees trying to figure my life out and realized I was always my best self when I was involved in my ward. I have always been active in the church but never really knew very much about it. This is why I love the Institute program. I learned so much during the 2 1/2 year i went to the LDS institute. I met great people. I also realized how smart Satan is and how hard he works on people struggling to find themselves. Luckily I had a great friend who ended up becoming my best friend who i ended up marrying! Patrick has helped me realize what is important in life and how to filter out Satans influences. I am a better woman because of him.
