Hi I'm Linda

I love being a wife and mom. I enjoying teaching teenagers. I'm a happy person, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, but spent three years with my husband and children living in Bettendorf, Iowa. I taught junior high school English and social studies classes for nine years before staying home to teach and enjoy my children full time. I am the mom of six wonderful children, five daughters and one son. I love to read, play the piano, and write, especially stories about the family. I always enjoy a great discussion about a good book or current events. I love to learn, to travel and spend time with my family. I hope people see me as an optimistic and kind person.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. I feel like I have always felt the truth of knowing that we lived with our Heavenly Father before we were born, and that we will live with our Savior and our families for all eternity! I am grateful for the gift of believing. I have been raised with a faithful family legacy, ancestors who sacrificed to build the Kingdom of God and I feel their faith in my life. As a teenager I had a friend who was not a Mormon, and we read the Book of Mormon together. At that time I gained an overwhelming testimony of Christ's great love for all his children, all over the world, and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Later, I had the chance to visit Nauvoo, and my testimony of Joseph Smith was strengthened when I realized through the spirit that I knew Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ because a young boy asked questions and received an answer to His prayers. I know that Heavenly Father has answered my prayers so many times. I see His loving tender mercies in my life and the lives of my children all the time. I am so grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost which has helped guide the decisions in my life, and has offered me peace and comfort during the times of difficulty and pain. I know my divine worth and role in the Kingdom of God and it gives me great peace and joy in this life and great hope for the future.

How I live my faith

I have spent a lot of my life playing the piano for church meetings. I love how music brings the spirit into our lives. I have also recently tried to learn how to play the organ. My favorite opportunities to serve in the church have been when teaching adults, children and young women during their Sunday classes and weeknight activities. I have organized summer youth camps which can help us all to come to know our Heavenly Father even better. I love working with the youth. They are always so kind and excited about the gospel and their future. I love to see the light in their eyes as the spirit teaches them to know and love their Heavenly Father, and recognize the power of the Savior's Atonement in their lives. I know that I am a valuable daughter of God and love helping others recognize that they are chosen sons and daughters of God as well.
