Hi I'm Austin

I'm from Nova Scotia, I love hockey, I'm serving a mission, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Austin. I am 19 years old, and I am proudly Canadian. Just like most Canadians, I absolutely love hockey. Hockey is by far my favourite sport, however, I love pretty much all sports, especially winter sports like skiing and skating. That doesn't really work well with my call to serve a mission for the church in the Republic of Congo, but that's ok! Africa is teaching me lots of new things about myself, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love that I am currently serving the Lord in this area of the world!

Why I am a Mormon

In a world full of uncertainty, the Mormon church is what gives me strength. Whenever I have made a mistake, or I feel I cannot do something, it is always the things I have been taught through my whole life about the gospel of Jesus Christ that help me through my trials. I know that we can be forgiven of our sins, and receive power from God through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings joy, I have seen two of my friends find happiness and peace through learning our beliefs and applying them to their lives. It is why I decided to serve a mission. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to treat others as Jesus Christ would. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve as a Ward Missionary in my ward, which basically means I help out with the missionary efforts in the place where I live, and try to make converts and others feel comfortable with learning and sharing the gospel. I also read the scriptures and study other teachings from our prophets to help me learn and grow spiritually as well. This helped me to be ready to serve a full-time mission in the Republic of Congo Brazzaville Mission. I believe everyone deserves the chance to hear the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and to come to know Him personally, and I love having the opportunity to do so.
