Hi I'm Austin Hodges

I'm a full time missionary for the Church, I'm an IT technician, an author, a chef, and your every day teenager, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young, 18 year old kid who loves life! I love technology, music, writing, poetry, cooking, art, design, cinematography, photography, spending time with friends, and learning about anything I can. I used to spend my time with my four best friends, Joel, Kiara, and Jenaya and Bryce. With them I push forward to greatness learning, laughing, and loving. My life revolves around work and learning and family. I'm a teenager with over-sized dreams, insane expectations, and an uneven sleep schedule. I finished high school early and started studying business and IT in the university. I play the piano, I write books, I design logos, I cook exquisite dishes, and I enjoy public speaking and teaching. Now I'm serving a full time 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the great Scottsdale AZ. I was called as a Spanish missionary to serve the Spanish Speaking people of Scottsdale.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and went faithfully as a child. When I got a bit older, I started to fall away from the church because I didn't have a reason or a testimony of why it was important to be a Mormon. I struggled with a lot of different trials and a lot of different mistakes as I was discovering myself and my place in the world. As I got older and wiser I slowly found my way back into the church. I participated in the gospel on a deeper level than I had ever imagined possible. I found a relationship with my Father in Heaven and realized he was just that--my father. I found out that I could be close to him despite my errors and mistakes and that he loves me regardless of what mistakes I've made. I feel His love and His power and know that that is something I can never live without. People think that a lot of kids in the LDS church are "brainwashed" into the church and that they have no idea what they're doing. I'm here to tell you that's wrong. People in the church feel and know for a fact the love of our Father in Heaven and want their children to feel the same love that's for all God's children. When youth can realize that, the gospel will mean more to them than anything in the world and they're realize the reason of it all. Not because the Church is for perfect people or to try to be better than everyone else, but because it's for those who want to make it back to live with God; sinners, liars, cheaters, adulterers, and anyone else who wishes to feel God's love. That's why I'm a Mormon, because the church is for me, for everyone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith night and day, 16 hours a day up and 8 down. During my day I fill my mind with studies of the word of the Lord from the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Preach My Gospel, Jesus the Christ, and any other book that contains the gospel! My purpose is to invite everyone to come unto Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and teaching people to persevere to the end.
