Hi I'm Bonnie

I grew up on a farm in Idaho. I am a stay at home mother of 4.I have a bachelors degree in Social Work I am a Mormon,

About Me

I am a stay at home mother of 4 children. This is what defines me in my current circumstance because my children are my life right now. I have always had a desire to help other people and so I became a social worker. I love the fundamentals of social work, to look at helping the whole person; social, emotional, physical, environmental ect. I have found that although I am not currently employed as a social worker, the things that I learned from social work have helped me in all aspects of my life and interactions with others. I love to run, I like the challenge of it, I like pushing myself to go farther and I love the way I feel when I finish a run. I also love being outdoors in nature. I like to hike, camp, explore or just observe the beauty in nature. I like the quiet and peace that is there. I also love people. I love to hear their stories and listen to what they have to say, especially my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had undeniable witnesses of the truth of this gospel. I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and always liked going to Church. But when I was 14 years old I went to a fireside while visiting relatives in California. The fireside was about Joseph Smith and I felt the presence of the Holy spirit so strongly that it felt like an actual, tangible, physical substance that was in the room. I knew for sure, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I have had similar feelings since then as I have listened to the Modern day prophets and apostles speak. I know for sure, without a doubt that these men have been called of God and that they are God's mouth pieces here on this earth. This, above everything else, is the reason that I am a Mormon. I know without a doubt that this church is lead by Jesus Christ himself and that he speaks to us through his servants, the prophet and apostles. Aside from these strong spiritual experiences, I am a very logically minded person, I have to know the whys. The gospel fits, it makes sense, I can tell that it was created by a perfect being, Jesus Christ, because there is no way that a man could have made something so incredible. I still have questions that need to be answered but I am perfectly confident that in time they will be answered, because I have had many answered by patience and study and prayer.

How I live my faith

For most of my life I have been an observer at church. I love to hear other peoples talks, lessons and testimonies but don't feel comfortable doing these things myself. Then, three months ago I was asked to be the President of the congregations women's organization. I was affraid but I have come to recognize that fear doesn't come from God so when I am affraid i turn to Him and rely on His help. I am, slowly learning to open up and share with others instead of just learning from others. This has been one of the biggest challenges that I have had to face in life because it is so far out of my comfort zone. I quesitoned why I was asked to do this calling when I felt so inadequate but what I have learned is that we don't have to be perfect we just have to be willing to try and willing to do the work, I am learning to rely on God and ask for His help.
