Hi I'm Liam

I attend BYU and am a soon to be missionary. I travel and play soccer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Provo for most of my life. I graduated High School here last year, and am now preparing to go on my mission. I am going to the Baltic Mission, Estonian speaking, and I leave November 5th! I'm so excited to go! I'm so excited to be able to share the happiness I've experienced in my life with others. I love to play soccer and basketball and most any sport. I attend BYU and love to make friends with as many people as I can!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Gospel. My parents are converts to the Church, and my family has sure seen the blessings that come from following The Lord. There have been times in my life when I've wondered for myself if this church is true, and if what is being taught is real or not. I really just went through the motions of baptism and being in the church until really two years ago when I was 16. I really really wanted to know if this was all true. I heard how the church really influences lives and that we can receive help and inspiration through the gift of the Holy Ghost, but I rarely felt it, if at all. So I decided that I would read the Book of Mormon. It really helped give me a sense of peace and perspective on where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. Reading regularly always gives me a sense of perspective. I'm the kind of guy that needs to always have a plan, and this book has been such a blessing to be able to let me know what I need to do next. After I finished the book I immediately started crying and I knew that it was true and that I needed to share it with as many people as I could. I felt the spirit so strongly. It makes me sad to know that so many people don't know why we are here or where we're going, and I imagine that that's really scary. I love to help people and I want to be able to save them from that uncertainty, so that they can feel the love and peace that comes from this gospel. I've had many many promptings since that summer when I read the book of Mormon. Just ideas that come into my head that help me know what decisions I should make, and I've never been let down by doing what the spirit tells me to do. I love this Gospel. I don't know what I would do without it.

How I live my faith

I have been a Priest Quorum 1st assistant to our Bishop. So I just help with managing lessons and activities with our 16-18 year old group in our ward (local congregation.) But now I am preparing to go on my mission! As I said above I'm going to Estonia on November 5th. I go often to the Temple so that I can serve. A Temple is a place where we make sacred promises and participate in sacred ordinances that will help us return to our Heavenly Father after our work is finished in this life. We are able to do these ordinances for our ancestors and other people that have passed on. So it's a great service to be able to perform these selfless acts for others. I read my scriptures and pray daily and try to help others whenever I can.
