Hi I'm George

I was born and raised in New Jersey. I come from a Peruvian family. I love basketball and soccer. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a big sports fanatic. I love playing them, watching them, and talking about them. Specifically, basketball and soccer are my favorites! I have played them my entire life and still do to this day. I graduated from high school last year and completed a full year at BYU-Idaho. I absolutely loved it there. I love to watch horror movies and just movies in general. I love Peruvian food, mostly because I'm Peruvian and also because it is just delicious! My favorite thing to eat is ice cream. I have played trombone ever since 5th grade and love to listen to music, all kinds. I love to be with my friends and just be outside soaking in the beautiful nature we have in our world. I love going to the beach in the summer, my favorite holiday is Christmas because of the special spirit of it every winter, and I am a real big fan of getting all four seasons in a year. It is good to have that variety. I absolutely love rollercoasters! I just adore the feeling of getting real scared before riding a huge rollercoaster and then conquering that fear by riding it. My favorite theme park is Six Flags Great Adventure and I was actually there recently. Riding Kingda Ka followed by the new record-breaking Zumanjaro drop ride (for those who know what they are) have caused it to be a day to remember. I'm a mechanical engineering major and my dream vacation is Hawaii. I love to have a great time and live life to the fullest!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I felt really good inside while I was investigating the church six years ago. As a 13 year-old boy, I never grew up with religion and thus I was never quite fond of it. My mom had been a member for at least seven years prior to my baptism and she brought me to church a few times when I was a very young boy. I came to realize when the missionaries started to contact my mom again at the end of my seventh grade year that the church is truly where I needed to be. I learned more about young men's and the niceness of the ward members. I have witnessed the beauty of the gospel and have grown testimony of the restoration of the church but most of all, I have discovered the love of God and the Savior for me in my life. I came to know the true purpose of this life and eventually that God has a plan for me. I saw the true purpose of the gospel and church; to bring people closer to our loving Savior. Basically, I am Mormon because of Jesus Christ and how I noticed my life change for the better as I received Heavenly Father's blessings and love. I cannot wait to go on my mission and let others know more about his gospel.

How I live my faith

I love being a member of the church! I certainly know it is Christ's church here on Earth. I love spreading the gospel to others and learning more and more about what the scriptures teach about the gospel. I am incredibly blessed to have found this church, which has made my life very happy. I read my scriptures daily and I go to as many church activities as I can, along with going to church every Sunday. It is such a blessing that my ward is only ten minutes away from my house. My recent calling is a ward missionary and I have enjoyed reaching out to other YSA's within my ward in order to let them know about upcoming activities. Most of all, I very much enjoyed reaching out to others because I wanted to let them know that we still care about them and want them to be included. I love to serve others and set an example to other people as well. This is why I have chosen to go on a mission; I want to help others come unto Christ and find the happiness that will complete their lives through living the gospel. I am a firm believer of the saying, "It is better to give than to receive" and I love witnessing happiness in others. Being a member rocks and I know that I would not find as much happiness as I do in this church in other faiths. God lives and loves us and I base my faith only in God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
