Hi I'm Terry Nicoll

I was raised in Mesa, Arizona. I recently retired as an elementary school principal. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a father of three children and grandpa of two. As a lifelong educator, I enjoy learning new things. I read books on early american history, church history, and the civil war. My favorite historical figure is Abraham Lincoln. I am a technology "geek" and would find life difficult without my smartphone and iPad. I am still not sure how I survived my teenage years without a cell phone, except there was no choice in those days. I love a brisk outdoor walk in the cold air and watching the rain. But most of all, I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church and baptized at the age of 8. I attended all my meetings as a child and youth in the church. My goal from an early time was to go on a mission for our church. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time after I graduated from high school. I knew that if I was going to share the truths that were contained in this book I needed to know them myself. I read the book and followed the counsel that Moroni gives in Moroni 10:4-5. He tells us that if we read to know the truth of these things and we do it sincerely and with faith that we can know whether it is true. I did exactly that and knew that this book contained the truths revealed to the prophets that lived on the American continent years ago. I was now ready to take this wonderful message to others. I served a full time mission for two years to New York City. Because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I was sealed for time and all eternity to my wife in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. It is reassuring to me to know that our family can be together after we leave this life. Our family unit does not end with death. I am grateful for the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I know that when I make a mistake, I can be forgiven and that my Heavenly Father loves me no matter what I do. The gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored on this Earth. We have a living prophet and apostles that help guide us in these tough times. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains the true gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no doubt in my mind of that fact. Don't take my word for it. My hope is that you will take some time and investigate the church and find out for yourself.

How I live my faith

I have held numerous callings in the church. These range from teaching to missionary work. My wife and I have been on two local missions and worked in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. My family recently moved to Pennsylvania where I am currently on a Church Service Mission helping patrons with their family history. In 2015 my wife was diagnosed with stomach cancer. She was critical and nearly died. Through our faith and fasting and prayer, blessings were poured upon us and she has been cancer free for a year now.
